Does Medicare cover long-term stays? No. Medicare only covers rehabilitation stays that are preceded by a three-day stay in a hospital. The patient must also have been prescribed the following: physical, occupational or speech therapy, chemo or radiation therapy, IV meds and/or have other skilled nursing needs. How much does it cost to live at Birchaven Village? Birchaven Village room rates vary for semi-private, deluxe semi-private, small private, large private and turret suites. For updated information, please see our room rates. What happens if my loved one exhausts their financial resources and can no longer pay? If a resident no longer has the financial resources to pay their bill privately, our social services staff and accounting staff will work with the individual, their family or their power of attorney to make arrangements for the resident to apply for Medicaid assistance. The care that the resident receives will not change. |
