SPECIALIZING IN DEMENTIA CARE IN A LOVING, HOME-LIKE ATMOSPHERE
We provide specialized care for those with memory loss, utilizing two "neighborhoods" to address the needs of different stages of this condition.
The neighborhood floor plans are open with large living rooms to allow for continuous mobility without the risk of getting lost or reaching a dead end. The entrance doors have alarms to alert staff if a resident leaves the area, but the resident's movements are not restricted.
Families are welcomed as a vital part of the resident's care, and we schedule family support group meetings monthly. Our compassionate staff works as a team with all of the members contributing to the resident's care. Families are encouraged to bring items to help the resident feel more at home.
We value each individual and care for all residents on a personalized basis at his or her level. We focus on the resident's strengths and promoting success in those areas.
Creating a Homelike Environment
- Cats in the neighborhoods provide companionship and entertainment for the residents.
- There is a kitchen in the dining room that features snacks around the clock.
- Neighborhoods are decorated to emphasize a home environment, with peaceful color schemes.
- The nurse's station is open and inviting, located in the center of the neighborhood making it easy for residents to find.
- Patio areas have glider swings with a relaxing rocking motion.
- Weekly chapel services are scheduled in the neighborhoods.
The Neighborhoods are designed for residents who have one or more of the following symptoms: disorientation to their surroundings, confusion, wandering, restlessness, memory deficits, behavior changes, and/or inability to perform the tasks of activities of daily living independently due to problems associated with memory loss.
If your loved one lives on Aspen Avenue, Birch Boulevard, Cedar Court or Dogwood Drive, you can expect:
- Activities designed to challenge residents to use their cognitive abilities to the fullest to maintain cognitive function.

- Group or individual activities offered according to personal interests.
- Sensory stimulation using pleasant aromas throughout the neighborhood. Music and spa bathing are used to encourage a calm atmosphere.
- Trips throughout the year, special occasion celebrations and special performances within the neighborhoods.
- It is our goal that each resident receive the support needed to maintain independence for as long as possible. This is accomplished through a structured and nurturing environment that allows residents to do things for themselves, including normal daily living activities.
