Birchaven Village Enrolls in National Quality Improvement Campaign

Birchaven Village has enrolled in the Advancing Excellence in America’s Nursing Homes campaign, a nationally recognized quality improvement project.
The Advancing Excellence campaign is a collaboration between public and private organizations fostering a nurturing care environment that recognizes the needs of the individual.
The campaign, established in 2006, has resulted in a coalition of more than 7,600 nursing homes, 2,100 consumers, and 28 organizations representing nursing home providers, caregivers/support staff, medical directors, quality improvement experts, consumers, government agencies and foundations.
National goals for improving nursing home care by December 2011 include increased resident improvement in the care process, ongoing assessment to improve the resident and family experience and staff satisfaction, and consistent assignment to help strengthen staff-resident relationships.
“Birchaven Village is excited to be involved in Advancing Excellence," said Bridgett Mundy, Birchaven Village administrator. "Being a part of the campaign is a win-win for our residents and staff members and we look forward to continuing to make the quality of life here even better for everyone.”
