Respiratory & Ventilator Care
The Respiratory & Ventilator Care Management Program at Birchaven Village offers specialized care for patients who need invasive or non-invasive ventilation. This program includes:
- On-site respiratory therapist available
- Pulmonary specialist visits patient on a regular basis
- One-on-one patient education with a respiratory therapist
- Safe discharge planning with necessary medical equipment and pulmonary rehabilitation services
- Respiratory therapist follow-up after returning home

It has always been our goal to meet the healthcare needs within the community. For this reason, Birchaven has had a respiratory and ventilator care management program since 2018. Patients who are in need of specialized care including invasive and non-invasive ventilators will receive exceptional care at Birchaven Village.

Providing Respiratory Care for the Patient
Respiratory conditions that may be monitored by a respiratory therapist during your stay at Birchaven Village may include, but are not limited to:
- Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) including chronic bronchitis and pulmonary fibrosis
- Cardiopulmonary diseases such as Congestive Heart Failure
- OSA – Obstructive Sleep Apnea
- Acute disease such as pneumonia
- Tracheotomy
- Invasive and non-invasive ventilation
- Pulmonary provider visits
